Scaffolding contractors · Yorkshire & nationwide

Scaffolding that turns up, stands up and signs off.

Ridge 3 is a commercial and domestic scaffolding contractor built on the stuff that actually matters on site: accurate quotes, gangs that arrive when they said, compliant design, and paperwork that stands up to an HSE visit.

Why Ridge 3

Most scaffolders lose work on the office side, not the site side.

Anyone can put tube and fitting together. What separates a contractor you call once from one you put on the framework is whether the quote was accurate, whether the gang turned up, and whether the paperwork was in your inbox before you had to chase it.

  • Quotes back within 24 hours. Itemised and fixed — erection, hire, adaptations and dismantle priced separately so a variation never becomes an argument.
  • Programme dates we actually hold. If we can't hit your date we'll say so on the first call rather than three days before you need the lift.
  • Compliance handled, not fudged. TG20:21 compliance sheets or bespoke design calculations, RAMS before we mobilise, handover certificates on completion.
  • Inspection records that keep your file clean. Every scaffold inspected at intervals not exceeding seven days, reports sent straight to you.
  • Crews that represent you well. Branded, in full PPE, tidy site, no music, no attitude — especially on occupied and domestic properties.

Common questions

Straight answers

How quickly can you get scaffold on site?

For most jobs in South Yorkshire we can survey within 24–48 hours and erect within a week, subject to design sign-off and any highways permits. If you're up against a programme date, tell us the date on the first call and we'll tell you straight away whether we can hit it — we won't string you along and drop you two days out.

Do you work outside Yorkshire?

Yes. We're based in Rotherham and the bulk of our work is across South and West Yorkshire, but we take contracts nationwide. For work outside a comfortable daily travel radius we'll price accommodation and travel transparently as a separate line so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

Is the scaffold designed, or just built?

Standard configurations are erected in strict accordance with TG20:21 and come with a compliance sheet. Anything falling outside TG20 — heavy duty loading, complex geometry, bridging, temporary roofs, unusual tie patterns — gets a bespoke design with calculations from a qualified scaffold design engineer before a single tube goes up.

What happens after it's erected?

You get a handover certificate. After that the scaffold is inspected at intervals not exceeding seven days, after any alteration and after anything that could have affected its stability — high winds, impact, adverse weather. Every inspection is recorded and the report goes to you, so your file is audit-ready.

Do you charge for quotes or site visits?

No. Site survey and quotation are free, with no obligation. You'll get an itemised written quotation covering erection, hire period, adaptations and dismantle — so you know what a variation costs before you ask for one.

Who is responsible for permits and licences?

If the scaffold sits on a public footpath or highway, a licence is required from the local authority. We handle the application, the paperwork and the lighting and guarding requirements as standard, and we'll tell you up front what the council fee is.
